NOAN for HR
HR agents that answer from the current policy
Leave, benefits, expenses, and onboarding steps live in NOAN as verified facts. Every HR assistant and agent reads the current version over MCP or REST, and sensitive areas stay with the people who own them.
Why HR agents give last year's answer
Employees ask the same questions every week. The answers change once a year, and the copies don't.
The handbook has copies
The leave policy lives in a handbook PDF, an intranet page, a few onboarding decks, and whatever was pasted into an assistant. Update one and the others keep the old wording.
Small changes, real consequences
A new expense limit or a moved enrollment date matters to the person asking. An agent quoting the old one makes work for HR and confusion for everyone else.
Not everything is for everyone
Some HR facts are for the whole company and some are not. A pasted document cannot tell the difference.
Your people policies, one fact at a time
Examples, for illustration. Your own list depends on your company and where your people work, and each item is a fact a named person on your team verified.
Time off and leave
Paid time off, parental leave, and the holiday calendar, by location where they differ.
Benefits
What each plan covers, and when enrollment opens and closes.
Expenses and equipment
Spending limits, what needs sign-off first, and the equipment a new hire receives.
Onboarding steps
What a new hire does in their first week, and who to ask about what.
What your HR agents can do with them
Examples, for illustration. Any agent or assistant that can call MCP or REST reads the same verified facts.
Policy questions
Answers employee questions from the current policy facts in the tools your team already uses, and points to a person when no fact covers it.
New hire onboarding
Walks a new hire through their first week from the onboarding facts, with the same steps for everyone who starts that month.
Handbook checks
Compares the handbook and intranet pages with the current facts and flags the passages that have drifted.
Every one of them is built on the same three primitives. See how to build your own, or start from the open-source agent pack.
Verify once. Every agent reads the current version
NOAN is the fact infrastructure for agentic companies: one API, over REST and MCP, for the verified facts about your business.
Verify
The person who owns a policy verifies it, and the fact carries who verified it and when. Facts an agent writes over the API can be held for a person to verify before anything reads them.
Version
Every version is kept. Agents read the current one, and Time Travel shows your facts as they stood on any past date.
Permissions
Roles and fact permissions decide who sees and edits each area, so a sensitive area such as pay bands stays with the people who own it.
Serve over MCP and REST
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex connect over MCP. Internal tools and assistants read the same facts over REST.
Webhooks when a fact changes
NOAN sends an event to an endpoint you choose the moment a fact changes, so the systems built on it can update without polling.
Next step
Connect your agent to verified facts
A remote MCP server for your company's own facts. Sign in over OAuth or send a NOAN API key. Install steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex.
Plain REST with a bearer key, JSON in and out, from any language. Every endpoint is in the OpenAPI spec.
Or tell any agent: Read https://www.getnoan.com/setup.md and follow it.
Common questions
Can an HR agent see every HR fact?
Only what its key allows. Roles and fact permissions decide who sees and edits each area, and every API key acts as the person who created it, narrowed further by its own scopes and allowed stacks.
What happens when a policy changes mid-year?
The person who owns the policy verifies the new version in NOAN. Every agent reads the new version from then on, the old one stays on the record with who verified it and when, and webhooks can tell your other systems the moment it changes.
Do employees need to use NOAN?
No. NOAN serves the facts to the assistants and tools your team already uses, over MCP and REST. The people who own each policy verify it in NOAN, and everyone else gets the current answer.
Can we see which policy was current on a past date?
Yes. Every version is kept with who verified it and when, and Time Travel shows your facts as they stood on any past date.
Put your HR answers on verified facts
Start with the questions your team answers every week: leave, benefits, expenses. Every plan includes the API and MCP, and paid plans add unlimited keys.
