How to Identify and Remove Outdated Facts in NOAN
Learn how to keep your NOAN facts updated, track down outdated info, and ensure your business content always reflects your current reality.

Keeping your facts up to date in NOAN is essential for ensuring your content, emails, and strategy always reflect your current business reality. Here’s a real-world example of how I caught an outdated reference, tracked it down, and fixed it—so you can do the same.
Step 1: Spot the Outdated Info
While reviewing an email draft for agencies, I noticed a line about “client mode”—a feature we’ve actually retired and replaced with the Advisor Portal. The email said you could “seamlessly manage multiple clients, assign strategies and collaborate on deliverables.” That’s not accurate anymore.
Step 2: Ask the Assistant to Find the Source
I suspected this outdated info was coming from one of my facts. So, I jumped into the NOAN Assistant and asked:
“Where in my facts does it mention client mode?”
The Assistant quickly identified that “client mode” was referenced in the Product Features fact, specifically in a line about agency features.
Step 3: Remove or Update the Outdated Fact
I deleted the outdated reference from the Product Features fact. Now, when the Assistant or Create Mode generates content for agencies, it won’t mention “client mode” at all.
Step 4: Confirm the Fix
After updating, I double-checked by asking the Assistant to reference “client mode” again. It was gone—problem solved.
Why This Matters
- Accuracy: Outdated facts can lead to confusion or miscommunication with clients and prospects.
- Efficiency: The Assistant relies on your facts to generate content. Keeping them current means less manual editing later.
- Trust: Consistent, up-to-date messaging builds trust with your audience.
Pro Tip
Whenever you update your business, product, or processes, take a moment to review and update your facts in NOAN. Use the Assistant to search for old terms or features, and keep your knowledge base clean.
